The Mentor Boys Basketball team improved their season record to 7-0 and moved to 4-0 in the GCC with a 71-53 victory over visiting Solon. The Cardinals used a 24-7 run to start the game to take control of the game. Steven Key II led the Cardinals with 28 points, Jonah Waag added 15 points, and senior wing Ian Kipp chipped in 4 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. It was a big day for Kipp off the hardwood when he committed to continue his football career at Kent State University. Luke Chicone helped the Cardinals effort with a near triple double, he totaled 10 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists. The team returns to action Friday night when they travel to Hudson.
