The Following information was sent to all student athletes and coaches:
I wanted to send out communication to all of our athletes and families regarding the latest school closure and OHSAA mandated no contact period. As you are aware the Governor declared that all K-12 schools be closed through April 5, 2020. Following that OHSAA commissioner Jerry Snodgrass sent out communication that the OHSAA has instituted a mandatory no contact period through April 5th. This means that you are to have no face to face contact with any of our coaches at Mentor. You can have email or phone contact with them and they can provide workouts and such for you to do on your own. No teams should be getting together for workouts or practices. In addition all of our school facilities must be closed through this same time period. Not only does this include our buildings and weight rooms, but also all of our fields and stadiums. No one should be practicing or using our facilities even by themselves. This is part of the mandate from the OHSAA. We are asking all of our student athletes to comply with this. Thank you for your cooperation in this area. Once we receive more information or are updated on the status of spring sports or the remaining winter sports I will let everyone know immediately. Thanks again for your patience through this. It is not easy for anyone. Take care of yourselves and stay healthy so that when we are able to return we can do so quickly. If you have any questions please feel free to email me at email@example.com.
